We got up at 6 a.m. again, ate breakfast in the hotel. Michael was off to work at the convention center. I hit the metro about 8:30 for the rest of the bus tour. The first stop I missed yesterday was “Casa Battlo.” This Gaudi’ house represents an allegory of the legend of Saint Jordi. (Catalonia’s patron saint George, whose dragon-slaying powers is depicted all over the city.)The roof is the dragon’s back and the balconies, sculpted in the form of carnival masks, are the skulls of the dragon’s victims. It was very colorful and had a ton of tile work inside and out it was really cool.
